So, you've added Adsense to your site and you are getting a few clicks. You
could be thinking to yourself, How do I get a massive amount of visitors to
bump up my earnings? If you're anything like me, you hear those stories
about webmasters that have added Adsense and are already earning five
figure incomes per month, and you start to see the dollar signs.
So you start brainstorming. You come up with a few ideas: email marketing,
ebooks, trial software, etc. The thirst for Adsense dollars (and maybe a few
affiliate dollars) is your main drive. Pushing massive amounts of traffic
through your site can give you quite a thrill ride.
Then along comes the well known email that markets the traffic exchanges.
If you aren't familiar with traffic exchanges, it's really very simple. You see,
you sign up for their service (which often times is free) and your website is
put in a list. The way the free traffic works is that you surf the web using
their browser, browsing sites that are in their directory (or list) and every 30
seconds you can refresh to a new site. As you continue to do this, it builds up
credits for your account that you use for other people who are using their
browser to see your site.
It's a cyclical service. You see their site, they see yours. And since you can
have as many browsers going (among the many traffic exchanges) as your
computer can handle, you can theoretically build up a large quantity of hits
on your site in a relatively small period of time.
It seems like a great thing, and for many it fills a very necessary niche, so I
can't say that the traffic exchanges are a bad service. I would use them in
anything else that I am doing. I would, however, make a very big distinction.
First, I know and respect the tech's at Google and I know that when they
make a new program for their visitors and webmasters to use, they make it
for the benefit of everyone. That is the case with their Adwords and Adsense
programs, both targeted to helping webmasters make money through
advertising (albeit the opoosite ends of the scale).
So when I put an ad on my website, I know that I am offering a service to the
advertiser (through Google) to reach their target market. And ethically, I
should only be paid when I provide that service (someone clicks through that
ad to their site). There are extreme ethical problems if you were to use traffic
exchanges with the Adsense program to try and cheat the advertiser out of
his hard earned dollars.
Plus, if you haven't figured out by now, Google knows what you are doing.
They have specific ways of knowing what is a legitimate impression, versus
what is a hit generated by a traffic exchange. Your numbers quickly dwindle
if you use a hit exchange and you run the risk of being kicked off the
program.
Plus, often times you have to go through two websites wasting a full minute
of your time before you get one hit directed to your website. Building up over
time, it eventually it all adds up.
Take, for instance, the "surf contests". This is where they tell you who has
racked up the most surfing in the week. These numbers are huge... up to
10,000 page loads. When you add it up, that's over 84 hours of one week
that is taken up trying to earn an extra 1,000 hits on your site. Not very
worth it to me.
The best way to use the Adsense program is with a website that you have
that is established and has a constant stream of visitors going through it.
That's the goal of the program, make money off of an existing site and its
content.
Adsense: Thinking of using hit exchanges to boost your Adsense earnings ?
Posted by Unknown | 2:04 PM | Adsense | 0 comments »1: The ideal Google AdSense page should have great content about a very
specific topic. Take pains to be very clear about what the topic is, and
carefully choose the keyword (or key phrase) describing the topic. Users
don't like vague pages that don't make it very clear what the page is all
about.
Don't even think about trying to 'trick' AdSense. (They have penalties,
including getting kicked out.) Don't create a page on one topic and give it a
file name about a different topic--that's too confusing.
In a nutshell, you want to make sure the page you create offers great value
to people interested in the topic. When you provide excellent information on
a specific topic, your visitors will benefit and will be more likely to click
through to relevant AdWords.
2: Everyone's seen way too many horizontal banner ads up top. Thus, Google
recommends you choose the vertical -- not horizontal -- format to display
your AdWords. I agree. People have become "banner blind" to a horizontal
format. Plus, Google has "trained" us to click on relevant text ads on their
own site and they use the vertical format.
3: It's to your financial advantage to put the AdWords near the top of your
page on the right. Make sure there is enough "breathing room" -- i.e. white
space around the ads -- so that they will easily attract your visitors.
4: The latest marketing tests have revealed that placing pictures beside, or
above you're a ads can have a massive impact on click-thru rates. This is
because the eye is immediately attracted to the picture, once they see the
picture, they see the ad!
5: I know it's tempting, because it seems so easy and it's just sitting there
waiting for you to do it, but do not click on the AdWords displayed on your
own site to increase your revenue. Google (rightfully) frowns on this.
Plus, Google has some of the smartest engineers around, and they are very
good at detecting this kind of fraud. And really, for an extra $1, is it worth
getting kicked out of a money-maker like AdSense? I think not...
Many people sell expensive lists of keywords that are supposed to make you tons
of cash for each click. Before you run out and buy one of those keyword lists, I
want to ask you a question.
Would you rather buy a list of keywords that pays you $25 per click, but only get
you 1 click a day ($25 profit per day), or would you rather get a free list of click
happy keywords that you can easily find yourself and get paid $4 a click, but get
50 clicks a day ($200 profit per day)?
Of course you want the click happy keyword list. Anyone would pick $200 a day
profit over $25 a day profit! So, exactly what is a click happy keyword?
A click happy keyword is a keyword that will cause someone to click based on
emotions that that keyword causes. Emotions like fear, anger, greed, disgust,
sadness, and more are all emotions that will drive people to click like crazy.
People look for answers when they feel an emotion.
When an over weight person is made fun of, and they go home to their computer
and look for a weight loss solution, they go to their favorite search engine, and
start clicking.
When a child comes home with lice a panicked mother will jump online and try to
find a quick solution to get rid of the lice on her child. She will become click
happy in her panic to find some instant solution.
By finding click happy keywords and building your site around them, you can tap
into this click happy people. You can take a keyword that only pays you $4 a click,
and make it make you more money than any other keyword you would get off of
some list of high paying keywords.
Finding these click happy keywords is super easy and will take you no time. I
simply open up my favorite keyword research tool, and type in some of the
following words.
Easy
Quick
Create
Prevent
Fix
Relief
Instant
Free
There are literally hundreds of these words. Now I'd take one of these words, and
plug it in to my keyword research software. For example, when I do research for
the keyword “prevent” I see a good click happy keyword phrase which is "prevent
hangover".
If you've ever had a bad hangover, you know that you would do anything to get
rid of it. Don't you think that someone suffering from a hangover wants the
prevention fast and is going to click like crazy until they find their answer? Of
course they are, and that's why finding these click happy keywords is so
profitable.
The key to really using the power of click happy keywords is to make sure that
you only provide enough content on your site to send these click happy visitors
clicking off your site via one of your Adsense ads or affiliate links. You then make
these click happy visitors profitable to you.
Start searching today for these click happy keywords, and you'll never again have
to worry about spending a lot of money on those high paying keyword lists that
will keep you making less money.
5 techniques to get traffic to your website and benefit from visitors
Posted by Unknown | 11:26 AM | Adsense | 0 comments »and benefit from visitors who click on Google Adsense ads.
1. Find a topic you can create a two-part article.
Writing a part of your article and place it on a page on your website. Place
Google adsense ads on the side of your article. (Example: http://domain.com/joint-
business-ideas.htm) Next you need to make two parts of your article and make
forget to make reference to your article in the first two articles. Take part two
and submit your article to ezine publishers and article directories.
Using this technique, part two of your article will drive traffic to part one
article. In this way you will profit when someone clicks on Google Adsense
ad when visiting a web page that is part one of the articles in.
2. Create a site related to the market that do not have the
but the quality of content about a popular topic in your market.
Make sure you place Google Adsense ads on your site also. You then offer
ezine publisher ad in one of the pages of your site if they will mention your site
for their clients. Make sure they know that they will benefit other ezine publishers
send traffic to your site. Their customers will find those ads also.
You will benefit from the income you earn by people clicking on Google
Adsense ads.
This technique is beneficial for everyone involved. I have not seen people use it.
So be in the van and watch this technique Google Adsense income explode!
3. Find a profitable topic and create a 5-10 page website.
Make sure to place Google Adsense ads on your website with content.
Next you will want to create a mini-ebook or report on the topic, and including
Links to affiliate products and services related to your topic. Take your mini
ebook or report and give it to website owners and ezine publishers who can reach
target market. Allow them to brand the affiliate links in the ebook or mini
report with their own affiliate link. Your mini-ebook or report, you will
want to make many references to sites that are made to this topic that has
Google Adsense ads on it. Whoever passes this mini-ebook or report about
will increase traffic to your site, and you will benefit from people who click
Google Adsense ads.
This virus uses marketing techniques, which in my opinion is one of the most
powerful marketing techniques around. You can get some added exposure by
send ebook to ebook directories.
4. Take some of the articles you have written and uploaded to the
your website.
Make sure to place Google Adsense code on the side of your article. Now take
URL of your article and the URL in your signature line in your email or
forum signature line.
With this simple technique, I was up to $ 46 per day to spend some
URL minutes to put my signature line.
5. Create a mini ecourse on a topic that you know about or do
research on popular topics and create a mini course for it.
Take each day and place it on your own web site. One day will have
page itself. Two days will have a page, and so on. Make sure you place Google
Adsense ads on every page as well.
When people sign up for their email ecourse, not content, send
them to the web address where the content. The key is to put your
Google Adsense ads before content.
By using this technique does not only build your customer list, but you will also be
advantage of people who click on Google Adsense ads when visiting to read
You ecourse.
In the future I will write more articles about how to profit with Google Adsense.
By using the techniques above, you work smarter and not harder, and
the real key to making money with Google Adsense.
Well… ’secret’. There really aren’t many secrets to AdSense, just common sense and testing. There are plenty of places out there that spit out how to make more money with AdSense. Most just say ‘use more ad blocks!’ or ‘go with the adlinks!’, well, I’m here to diffuse all of that non-sense and give some real, hard-core advice.
Blend ads
Can lower ecpm if blended too well, otherwise will increase CTR and eCPM. What do I mean by blend the ads? Try using the same link color as the title and possible the URL. However, don’t change everything around it to look like Google ads — many sites get in trouble with this. You see some sites which have a sidebar, Google adlinks at the top then below it regular links with exactly the same font-size, font-family, etc. That is a huge mistake. Just use the same colors. We want to increase awareness, but we still want the visitors to realize they are ads and leaving the site.
Use complimentary colors
Yeah, it isn’t entirely blending the ads, but it makes the ads show out just enough to show visitors they are ads, but since they are complimentary they don’t look horrible. For some sites this will work better than total blending.
Medium and large rectangles work great
The 300×250 is my favorite. Why? It shows videos, image ads, CPM ads and of course, regular contextual ads. Not only this, I can easily embed them into articles. It looks great along side articles I don’t have pictures for and will target much better than those on the side of the page.
Turn on image ads
From experience image ads have a higher eCPM. Although the CTR is lower, that doesn’t matter in the end.
A page that reviews something will give more eCPM
Why? Because people who read reviews are people looking to buy. Of course, in most cases people who write reviews are in a better situation if they use affiliates instead.
Too many ads will lower eCPM
There are only so many high paying ads and the highest show at the top of the HTML. And not only that, you will lose visitors because of too many ads (I’m talking, more ads than content) and will lose a ton of money in the end. Just play it safe, place a few AdSense ads per page.
Horizontal link units work well in right place
A lot of people say using the link directly below horizontal navigation or your site banner works great. I haven’t personally tried this, but they say it works out great.
Remove low performing pages
They can be triggering smart pricing, which means a lower eCPM on pages which perform well, which equals lower overall end earnings.
Place most important AdSense ad highest in HTML
Although already slightly touched on, this is very important. Since Google media bot only reads pure HTML, it can’t understand page structure of CSS. This means it doesn’t matter where on the page the ad shows up, just where in the HTML the code is placed. And since Google places the highest paying ads (best performing on your site) the very first, it is important to keep this in mind.
Use h1s, h2s, title tags
Google uses these as a great part of its algorithm in displaying ads. Of course, if you don’t use these already you need to slap your web developer. These are the most important tags on any web page and will substantially increase your rankings in search engines.
Have a ton of content? Place an Ad block below it
This works great for long articles. Generally after reading a piece, readers want to know where to go next. If there is an ad targeted to their interest (which there should be with AdSense) they are more likely to read and buy what the ad has to say.
Test, test, test
I can’t stress this enough. No one can tell you exactly what will work for your site. The only thing you can do is test, test and test again. Who knows, maybe your site is the one in a million that works better using some obscure ad style no one else does well with. You’ll never know unless you try.
